Island Constellations: "Bigger than Us" Screening & Panel Discussion
As part of our Earth Month programming, we'll be partnering with National Geographic Explorers to delve into climate action through indigenous preservation and archipelago stories. The programming builds off of Ways of Water—last year’s Earth Month program—and shines a light on the severe impact of climate change for coastal communities.
A photography exhibition of the same name will feature images captured during previous workshops in which frontline and indigenous youth were tasked with capturing their regions with borrowed cameras, and will be on display at Eaton HK’s Food Hall from April 21- May 15.
On April 21, National Geographic Explorers will host ‘Constellations’, an afternoon of knowledge sharing sessions, beginning with an exhibition walkthrough and screening of Bigger Than Us, the 2021 documentary produced and directed by Flore Vasseur, co-produced by Marion Cotillard and written by Vasseur and Melati Wijsen. It was nominated for the César Award for Best Documentary Film in 2022 and follows Melati Wijsen, an 18-year-old Indonesian girl and well-established activist against plastic pollution in her country.
