Presented by SOSOS, Open Session is an artist conversation open to the public hosted by SOPHY featuring artists from different realms. A commitment in bringing together Hong Kong based artists to share their creative journey, processes, and approach in creating art and music.

SOPHY WONG

A Hong-Kong born multi-disciplinary singer-songwriter.

With a unique style fusing Pop, Electronica and Soul R&B music, SOPHY opened for Moonchild (US), Rhodes (UK) and indie electronic music label Dark Paradise (TW); performed at Clockenflap (HK), Asia Music Keep Rolling Festival (TW), Zandari Festa (KR) etc.

Debuted in 2016 with a self-released EP《Sophrology》, SOPHY received critical acclaims and had broken into local mainstreams. She released her second EP《QUARTER》in the following year, which earned her the nomination by the 9th Taiwan Golden Indie Award. 

Bowen Li

Li studied in London at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (Bmus), and graduatedwith a major in jazz performance and composition in 2018. After returning to Hong Kong, Li regularly collaborated with various artistic groups such as Wuji Ensemble, Ensemble Transience, Chung Ying Theatre, Bel Canto Singers, and more. He also collaborated with the renowned director Tsai Ming-liang. He has participated in a variety of performances, including major music festivals such as “ Jazz Gala—The Legend and Beyond"in 2019, “Festival Hong Kong 2019 – A Cultural Extravaganza @Shanghai”, Jazz Up” Series: The Present – Jazz Festival of an Inward Journey” in 2021, and the Freespace Jazz Festival in 2019 to 2023. Li is also very active in the Hong Kong jazz scene, performing his originals with the Bowen Li Trio.
